Storage & Cellaring FAQs

What temperature should I store wine at?

Long-term cellaring sits between 12°C and 14°C with stable humidity around 60–70%. Service temperatures differ: reds 16–18°C, whites 8–12°C, sparkling 6–8°C. A dual-zone fridge lets you do both in one cabinet.

How big a wine fridge do I really need?

Count your current collection, add 50% for growth over 12 months, and pick the next size up. Most collectors underestimate. As a rough guide: 24–40 bottles for occasional drinkers, 80–120 for active collectors, 200+ for those who buy by the case.

How does Wine Animal’s cellar filling service work?

We start with a short consult to understand what you drink, your budget, and your timeline. We then build a tailored case (or full cellar) drawn from our curated network of producers. Delivery is white-glove, with tasting notes and a drinking window for every bottle.

Can I add to my cellar over time?

Yes. Cellar and Collector tiers include an annual top-up programme so your collection stays balanced as you drink through it. We track what you have, what’s peaking, and what you should buy next.

Do you deliver outside Victoria?

We deliver Australia-wide. Metro Melbourne is white-glove; interstate deliveries use temperature-controlled couriers. Storage hardware ships directly from LeCavist.

Is LeCavist a sponsor or a recommendation?

Both. LeCavist is our recommended storage partner because their range covers every cellar size we work with, and we earn a small affiliate share on referred sales. The recommendation comes first; the partnership reflects it.
