“This wine definitely inhabits the Gris end of the spectrum, wafting dried pear and white nectarine to start, with a delicious, spicy edge to the above fruit flavours, mouth rich, textured and lingering. Very smart, very drinkable with a depth not often seen in most commercial PGs.”

“Pristine and elegantly fragrant, the bouquet shows ripe pear, rockmelon, lemon peel, and floral notes, followed by a juicy palate that’s finely flowing and lingering. Beautifully framed by elegant texture and bright acidity, finishing long and refreshing. At its best: now to 2030.”
— Sam Kim | Wine Orbit
“Do Riesling producers understand Pinot Gris better than most? It is revealed beautifully here in aromas that naturally elevate the aromatic — honeysuckle, spiced apple, ginger, lime, lemon — with just a touch of tarte tatin budding complexity. There is good depth of flavour in one so young joined by an emerging warm texture. The finish is sustained. A lovely, finely expressive Gris with some varietal spiciness sitting in the background adding that extra touch of class.”

“Along comes this radiant release from Riposte — it’s a beauty. Clean, fresh, vibrant. Cut pear and poached pear radiate all the energy with green apple skin, the flicker of honeyed tones and white fleshed stonefruit playing supporting roles. What draws me in closer is the considered textural interest with its captivating depth. That phenolic grip is well handled and placed. Cinnamon spices wash through gently and a long bow of lemon juice and citrus acidity is drawn on close. Great stuff!”

“A pale bronze yellow hue, the nose offers crisp pear notes, spices, fresh green apples and florals. This is lean, elegant and refreshing, a wine with focus and direction, but there is a lift from the seductive texture. It is finely balanced, with good intensity, bright acidity and of medium length. Very attractive drinking for the next four to six years.”
— Ken Gargett | Winepilot
“This wine is called pinot gris but, in reality, it offers the best of both the pinot gris and pinot grigio styles. It has weight (of ripe flavour) and substance but it also tastes energetic and refreshing. Win-win. Red apple, pear and citrus flavours do the talking, the end result juicy, dry and delicious.”

“The 2025 The Stiletto Pinot Gris leads with pear drops and Granny Smith apples, lemon barley and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is plump, soft, slightly sweet and quite delicious. I like it very much. It is thoroughly enjoyable as a bright summer aperitif.”
